In the heart of Dagoretti, a quiet but powerful movement is growing. On October 10, 2025, Havilaplus Estates will join hands with Nairobi City County, community leaders, and local residents for a clean-up that is about more than just sweeping streets and collecting litter.
This Mazingira Day, the theme “Live Green, Live Incredibly” reminds us that caring for the environment is not a one-time activity—it is a way of life.
Why Dagoretti?
Dagoretti is a vibrant neighborhood, full of history, culture, and hardworking families. But like many urban areas, it faces challenges with waste management. Streets that once bustled with color and life often bear the weight of plastic bags, bottles, and unmanaged dumpsites.
Instead of looking away, Havilaplus Estates, in collaboration with Nairobi City County, has chosen to step in—because a community deserves to breathe clean air, enjoy safe public spaces, and take pride in its surroundings.
A Day of Unity and Action
On Mazingira Day, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, county officials, Havilaplus Estates staff, local organizations, and volunteers will walk side by side, gloves on, brooms in hand.
It won’t just be about picking up trash—it will be about starting conversations:
- How do we manage our household waste better?
- What can businesses do to reduce their environmental footprint?
- How can young people lead the way in creating a greener Dagoretti?
The clean-up is an invitation to everyone—residents, schools, churches, businesses—to rediscover what it means to care for the space we all share.
Voices of Change
“At Havilaplus Estates, we believe that sustainable property management goes hand in hand with environmental stewardship. Partnering with the county on Mazingira Day is our way of giving back to the community and fostering a culture of responsibility and care for our environment. With this year’s theme, Live Green, Live Incredibly, we want to inspire every resident to take pride in a cleaner, greener Dagoretti,” said Mr. Simon Muchiri, Director, Havilaplus Estates.
His words echo the spirit of the day: this isn’t just corporate responsibility, it’s community responsibility.
Beyond the Clean-Up
While the clean-up itself will make a visible difference, the real goal is long-term impact. With support from Nairobi City County, Mazingira Day will be a starting point for deeper environmental awareness—encouraging households to recycle, businesses to adopt sustainable practices, and residents to hold each other accountable for keeping Dagoretti green.
Because when we live green, we truly live incredibly.
